Black Forest Cake
Ingredients:
1 (18.25-ounce) box devil’s food reduced-fat cake mix – do not make as directed on box – ( use Betty Crocker Sweet Rewards)
1 1/3 cups water
2 tablespoons applesauce
2 scoops chocolate marshmallow protein powder
6 egg whites
1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling
2 tablespoons fat-free chocolate cherries jubilee syrup (Hershey’s) or fat-free chocolate syrup
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray three 8-inch round cake pans with non-fat cooking spray and set aside.
In a medium-sized bowl, beat cake mix, water, applesauce, protein and egg whites with a wire whisk or large spoon for 1 minute.
Pour into prepared pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 16 to 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Three small individual cakes. Leave cakes in pan. Divide and spread cherry pie filling on top of the 3 cakes. Drizzle syrup on top. Cut each cake into 8 pieces.
I like to serve this a little chilled before serving.
